The Scarborough Hospital s(TSH) anniversary celebrations are an opportunity to celebrate our contributions to the community and to highlight our achievements over the past 50 years. Last November 18, 2005 TSH s Grace Campus marked 20 years of service to the community and this past May 12, 2006 TSH s General Campus marked 50 years of service to the community.Over the years we have celebrated many firsts. Did you know The Scarborough Hospital opened Canada s first Burn Unit in 1968 and the Greater Toronto Area s first Sports Medicine Clinic in 1974 at our General Campus? Did you know we also launched Scarborough s first Perinatal Bereavement Program in 1985 and Scarborough s first Seniors Day Hospital in 1988 at our Grace Campus?In September 1998, the Health Services Restructuring Commission (HSRC) confirmed and endorsed a proposal for the amalgamation of The Salvation Army Scarborough Grace Hospital and Scarborough General Hospital into one corporation.
