PCL Packaging Corporation was founded in 1969 as a plastics recycler in Hamilton Ontario. Over the years it grew into Canada s leading plastic bag manufacturer and served its blue-chip roster of customers from its six North American manufacturing facilities. PCL packaging was the leader in environmentally friendly products and programs including the largest plastic bag recycling program in Canada. In 2006, after more than a decade of ownership, the major shareholders of PCL Packaging Corporation decided to divest the business. Over the next few years, the following took place; Sigma Plastics Group acquired PCL Packaging Corporation Coastal division in Florida. Trinity Packaging Corporation acquired PCL Packaging Corporation Pueblo division in Colorado. Inteplast Group Limited acquired PCL Packaging Corporation Delta division in British Columbia Canada Inteplast Group Limited acquired PCL Packaging Corporation Dighton division in Massachusetts. Inteplast Group Limited acquired PCL Packaging Corporation St. John division in New Brunswick Canada. On March 31, 2008 PCL Packaging Corporation closed the doors on its Oakville Ontario plant after one of its major customers decided to eliminate plastic bags from all its stores and replace them with reusable bags. Over the years many great people were part of the PCL family. This site is now dedicated to all the folks who contributed to PCL s success during its illustrious 40 year history.
