Matthew Gaasenbeek Matthew Gaasenbeek is founder and Chairman of Northern Crown Capital Corp. Mr. Gaasenbeek has over 40 years of experience in management consulting and corporate finance, both in Canada and internationally. For eleven years he was a Senior Vice President of Midland Doherty (now Merrill Lynch Canada), in charge of corporate finance. Subsequent to that, he was president of a public mining company. In 1983 he started Northern Crown Capital Corp. to provide investment banking and corporate services on a private and selected basis. He has been on numerous corporate, government and non-profit organization boards, particularly in the environmental field. Formerly he was the Chairman of the Ontario Development Corporation. During his career he has been a director of a number of public, private, and non-profit companies, and presently is a director of two public companies and one private company. DeJong Robert DeJong has thirty years of investment banking experience in both Canadian and international markets Mr. DeJong has a broad background in successful and innovative private placements completed during a variety of market cycles. Originally with Wood Gundy for many years, he worked in all major aspects of the investment banking business, both in Toronto and New York. Prior to joining Northern Crown, he carried on a financial advisory and fiscal agency business serving private companies. Mr. DeJong assisted companies in both traditional and emerging industries with their financing needs and implemented successful strategies and financing for management and leveraged buyouts. During this period, he arranged over $300 million of financing for private companies. He raised the first commercial market finance in Canada for a short line railway company, and then developed a broader institutional funding market for the industry.
