Introducing Newmarket Chiropractor Dr. Kristine NewmanI first saw a chiropractor out of sheer curiosity. The window I looked out of every day at university looked directly into a Family Wellness Chiropractic Office . While studying (or at least attempting to study) I would watch all ages of people come and go from the office. After another set of stressful exams and a sore midback, I booked an appointment to find out what chiropractic wellness was all about. Well I found out it wasn t at all what I thought chiropractic would be - in fact the doctor asked me questions that had nothing to do with my back at all. And what was even stranger was the patient before me was a tiny baby. Her mother told me that her entire family came to see this chiropractor. It was because of that conversation that I came back for my first adjustment. I have not missed an adjustment since that day almost 10 years ago! It was the things I wasn t expecting that kept me coming back - I slept better, my energy was higher, my focus stronger, and I stopped getting colds all the time! But most importantly I no longer suffered from the digestive problems that had plagued me for years. This was a turning point for me and it began my commitment to chiropractic and a wellness based lifestyle. After I completed a Biochemistry and Neuropsychology degree at Queen s University I applied to the Southern California University of Health Sciences to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. Another four years of school followed by board exams and I was finally a Chiropractor graduating at the very top of my class! In 2002, I saw my first patient in Newmarket! I always knew I would focus on family wellness and in 2004 I began a program through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association . After hundreds of hours of study, years of hands-on experience, and a rigorous examination process in 2006 I completed the certification. The designation CACCP now indicates my rare specialization in pediatric and prenatal care. This includes proficiency in Webster Technique to assist expectant mothers to naturally and gently reverse breech presentations. My patients are like an extended family to me and I feel incredibly lucky and privileged to work with them. It had always been a dream to me to create a warm, inviting and unique office space. This dream came true when I transformed a floor of a century home in downtown Newmarket into Park Avenue Chiropractic. We have a patient resource center complete with up-to-date health information, an extensive lending library, and a section devoted to pregnancy and children! Thank you for visiting our site.
