Our modern precision casting facility is ideally situated on five acres of land in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, within minutes of access to Ontario s major highway system as well as three major airports, and 20 minutes from several USA border crossings. Starting as a captive supplier to our own corporation over 40 years ago, Johnson Matthey evolved from a sand castings producer to Ontario s largest investment castings manufacturer as a direct result of our focus on value for our Customers. Investment castings can be produced with intricate detail, close tolerances, and a high degree of metal integrity, compared to sand castings. The Investment Casting process uses injected wax patterns, produced either from aluminum dies, which we design and build for every job, or from high quality printed waxes used for rapid prototypes. The waxes possess excellent detail, surface quality, and accuracy, which when "invested" into a series of high grade ceramic slurries to form a seamless mold around them, transfer these properties into the mold, which in turn becomes the high temperature vessel in which the molten metal is poured in order to form the castings. Today, our core business is manufacturing investment castings in "base metals" such as Carbon and Low Alloy Steels, High Alloy Stainless Steel, Nickel Base, Cobalt Base, and Copper Base alloys.
