Since the incorporation of Allied Salvage, the company has blossomed and bloomed, implementing significant upgrades in facilities, equipment, and personnel. In 1952, the original company operated out of a small property at 315 Powell Street, retaining the services of one or two additional employees as needed. In 1972, with the passing of Isador, George Weinstein oversaw the company’s move to 43 East 1st Street, under a new title: False Creek Resources. On these premises, the business remained until preparations for Expo ’86 intervened. Allied Salvage relocated to rented land in Richmond, hiring more staff in the process. In the early 1900’s they purchased land on Mitchell Island and more trucks, enabling it to expand its recycling mandate.
