Aish Toronto is a branch of Aish HaTorah International , one of the leading Jewish educational movements in the Jewish world today with 26 branches spanning 5 continents. Aish Toronto was founded in 1981, beginning in a 900 square foot basement office. Today Aish Toronto comprises a variety of inspiring educational programs as well as two learning centers. The two Aish Learning Centres are partnered with two vibrant synagogues - The Village Shul and The Thornhill Community Shul. These two centers house communities that aspire to the Aish philosophy of learning, share Judaism in a non-judgmental way and promote the taking of responsibility for Jewish pride, Jewish unity and Israel. Aish believes that Judaism has something to offer to todays Jews in all areas of his or her life. The cutting edge programs are upbeat, provocative, and contemporary.
