Aboriginal Resources Consulting (ARC) provides a variety of activities that include: workshops and presentations on Aboriginal culture and traditions, demonstrations of beadwork and leatherwork, musical performances and the services of a cultural coordinator and advisor. The presentations include singing, drumming and story telling. Display items from First Nations, Inuit and Metis are available. Workshops for dream catchers, medicine wheels, medicine bags, decorated beaded feathers, talking sticks, and raw hide rattles are also available During these workshops, the participants will learn how to make these items and will also receive teachings on the meaning of the items and what role they played and still play in Aboriginal culture today. All the activities are available in both official languages. The musical performances are by Northern Voices. A trio that includesPauline Brook, David Finkle and George Ducharme. Their music comprises original pieces, contemporary songs, Celtic, Aboriginal and French traditional music, sung in English, French and in Aboriginal languages. Their music represents a weaving of the historical and contemporary tribal similarities shared by these cultures. There is a strong focus on the drum, being either the Irish bodhran or the Aboriginal hand drum. Northern Voices released their first self titled CD in August 2008.
