Since its founding in 1979, Landmark East School has taught students with a learning disability how to learn and realize their academic dreams. With a reputation for excellence in education, we will celebrate 30 years of dedication and commitment to our students. The founders of the school, Dr. Bill Mason, Senator Jim Cowan, John Edgecombe, Ken Mounce, and Dr. Jim Standen, believed students with learning disabilities must be given the opportunity to learn academic, athletic and social skills enabling them to succeed in our competitive world. Over the past 30 years, the School has faced many challenges and celebrations. We are the leading educators in the field of learning disabilities. Parents, committed to the well-being and future of their child, have made a financial commitment to ensure their child receives an education which will allow them to fulfill their dreams. It is not inexpensive for a student to attend the School. We were very fortunate to have a 9-year partnership with the Johnson Scholarship Foundation. Over the past five years, their matching grants program has enabled us to grow our Student Bursary Endowment fund to 1.2 million dollars. The next 30 years will have its share of challenges. But the triumphs and celebrations will always shine through.
