Buckley Jiu-Jitsu offers you an experience unlike any other in martial arts training. Our camaraderie and inclusive attitudes are legendary. We don t just spout the work hard - play harder mantra, we live it. Everyone at our school is a student. Everyone is a teacher. Everyone strives to improve and they dedicate themselves to ensuring no one is left behind. Buckley Jiu-Jitsu began in 2003, when Sensei Patrick began teaching at a local recreation centre. The club quickly grew from one class to three, as word spread about the fantastic training and fun program. In 2006, Buckley Jiu-Jitsu had outgrown the space and mats at the recreation centre and it was time to get some dedicated training space. The 4th Line and Speers location opened in April 2006 and we haven t looked back! Buckley Jiu-Jitsu is a stand alone club, not a satellite or franchise. The founder and owner steps on the mat every night, so you know your training is coming straight from the top. Although we are not formally affiliated with any other clubs, the Buckley style has been influenced over the years by Sensei Patrick s training and teaching at Belleville Karate, Ranger Jiu-Jitsu, Impact Club, the Richmond Hill Centre for Martial Arts and Kensho Jiu-Jitsu. Sensei Patrick credits Shihan Jack Donovan, Sensei Tom Sharkey, Soke Richard Morris, Kyoshi Allain Sailly, Kyoshi John Therien, Kyoshi Kevin Block, Kru Nick Hewitson, and many others with influencing his techniques and teaching style.
