The Canadian Balboa Championships was an annual one-weekend national event whose mission was to promote and spread the knowledge of Balboa throughout Quebec and the rest of Canada. The Canadian Balboa Championships was an intense workshop weekend presenting international instructors that will take place September 21st to 23rd 2007. The forms of Balboa that will be taught: Pure Balboa, Bal-Swing, Slow Balboa, Balboa Tricks, Aerials and Lifts. Three eight hour tracks were offered from Beginner to Advanced with some additional add on classes that will feature Master Classes and Classic Balboa Aerials and Lifts. The CBC would feature competitions highlighting the best dancers in Balboa. The competitions were free for all of those dancers who have purchased a weekend pass. There will be four competitions: Slow Bal, Medium Bal, Fast Bal and an Open Jack and Jill. There were no rules for these competitions but to just come and show everyone what you got! Moreover, CBC offered dance nights with breathtaking live bands from Quebec City and an amazing assortment of Canadian DJ’s from Vancouver, BC to Toronto, ON. In addition there was late night dancing until 4am at Quebec City’s only swing dance studio, Port-O-Swing.
