Bruce House was established in 1988 with the generous support of a number of local individuals who provided us with our first residence. Since then, Bruce House has grown to encompass much more. The agency now manages a seven-bed residence that provides twenty four-hour personal care, as well as provides support to thirty-four apartment units throughout the city for people living with HIV and AIDS. Our Apartment Program also provides interested residents with personal support, counseling and referral to a number of other organizations and agencies throughout the region. Bruce House works with the City of Ottawa, the Province of Ontario and the government of Canada, a network of community centers and agencies, local hospitals, such as the Children s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, the Ottawa General Hospital, physicians, social service agencies and other local charitable agencies and organizations.
