Ballet Espressivo was founded in 2003 under the leadership and artistic direction of choreographer Donna Greenberg. The company is dedicated to producing innovative choreography enriched with elements from such wide-ranging traditions as eighteenth-century ballet and modern dance, while remaining true to the technique of classical ballet. Since its inception in the Toronto dance scene, the company has performed extensively at such venues as The Harbourfront Centre, Toronto Centre for the Arts, The Mississauga Living Arts Centre, The Betty Oliphant Theatre, Series 8:08, and TIDF Toronto International Dance Festival.
