We are small family-owned ceramics company founded in 1984 in Milton, Ontario, Canada. From the very beginning, we have specialized in producing decorative ceramic switchplates, which we sell all over North America under our trademark Now That s a Switch!™ Over the years we have designed thousands of different switches, and sold hundreds of thousands. We believe our current crop of designs is our best offering yet. All of our designs are All Fired Up! originals, designed by Lynne Carson, and many of them are available in multiple configurations. Beyond switchplates, we also produce attractive wall clocks, featuring twenty-four of our best-selling designs, ceramic house numbers, ceramic bottle stoppers and ceramic pendants. Our newest items include mirrors made of ceramic tile, incorporating some of our most popular designs. Lastly, we sell custom-made mosaic accent pieces by David Carson who fashions them from shards of our own ceramic. The product page on this site has a number of slide shows presenting every design and size we make. The products are separated by size and type. For instance, there is a slide show for clocks, three different ones for single switches, another two for receptacles, and so on. To view the slide show, navigate to the size or product you are interested in, via the drop-down menu, and it will play automatically. Or, if desired, you can go straight to the design you are interested by clicking on the thumbnail image. We will add new designs at least twice a year, so check back regularly. The mosaic pages are reprentative examples of David s work and exact pieces may have already been sold. A few notes about our products: All of our switchplates are CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved. They will fit on standard switches in North America only. We provide extra-length nylon screws with each switch (they are less likely to crack the ceramic than metal screws).These switches are thicker and slightly larger than the typical plastic one (and much nicer!). Not all designs are available in all configurations. Combination switch/receptacle plates are all reversible so it doesn t matter which side the plug is on. Colors will vary on most designs due to the nature of the decorating techniques and the variability of some of our glazes. Also, note that colors on your monitor may not be accurate. The clocks include a battery-operated movement. You will require one alkaline AA battery to operate it. House numbers do not come with screws - choose suitable screws for the surface on which they are to be mounted.
