Doug has practiced law for more than 30 years in both Ontario and British Columbia. In 1987, while a partner in a successful law practice in Ontario in which he specialized in business, tax and real estate development, Doug holidayed in British Columbia and fell in love with the North Shore mountains and Pacific West Coast. After being admitted to the British Columbia bar and relocating to the North Shore in 1988, he practiced as a securities lawyer, specializing in initial public offerings for venture capital companies seeking listings on the Vancouver Stock Exchange. While never getting entirely out of the practice of law, until 2003 Doug was also engaged in the commodity trading business, with customers in the Middle East and Europe. In the summer of 2003, Doug returned fulltime to the practice of law and in 2004 established Lonsdale Law in its present location. As well as managing the rapid growth of the law practice, Doug remains committed to providing superior legal counsel to his clients, particularly in the areas of business law, immigration, wills and estates and real estate. Doug s depth of knowledge and practical experience has proved invaluable in all areas of his practice. He strives to maintain a fair balance between high quality legal counsel and pragmatic, realistic results for his clients. When not practicing law, Doug enjoys golf, bridge, reading, boating and the company of family and friends. [email protected] Lyn obtained her Bachelor of Law with Honours in 1983 at the Queensland University of Technology. She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in March of 1986, after which she practiced in the areas of Taxation and Litigation. In 1991, Lyn obtained a Bachelor of Theology from St. Marks College. Since emigrating to Canada, Lyn was awarded the G. Allan Higenbottam Prize for Civil Procedure from the University of Victoria in 1997. Since being called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1998, Lyn has been a tireless advocate for her clients. She has practiced extensively in the areas of Family Law, Personal Injury, Civil Litigation and Wrongful Dismissal. Lyn joined Lonsdale Law as an Associate in July 2007, and restricts her practice to Family Law (including family mediation), Employment Law and Personal Injury. In addition to practicing law fulltime, Lyn is a Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist and will become a Rekei Master in November of 2009.
