The lyrics were written by Canadian Deb Schutt, a member of Breast Cancer Action Kingston s Chestmates. The music was written by Kingston musician Stu Woolley and is performed by Stu and Tim Aylesworth with backup vocals by several Chestmates. "TAKE IT AWAY" had its global debut at the International Breast Cancer Survivor Dragonboat Festival 2010 in Peterborough, Ontario where it inspired over 2000 survivors and supporters from all across Canada and the United States, as well as Italy, South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia.
