John Arevian brought his young family to Montreal in 1956 and opened Avenue Hardware shortly thereafter. In 1975 Avenue Hardware became Arevco Lighting. At that time Arevco Lighting sold only light bulbs. John imported the brightest and longest lasting bulbs available. As Arevco Lighting grew he began importing quality fixtures as well.
