Founded in 1990, Delta RIM Composites Inc. (DRC) specializes in the production and custom molding of products made of thermoset materials such as polyurethane elastomers and foams, structural polyurethanes, liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and epoxies. DRC is equipped with Hot Casting systems, Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) systems, Liquid Injection Molding (LIM) systems and has developed other in-house systems to address particular client needs. Hot Casting is used for processing elastomeric polyurethanes and epoxies, which are used in a variety of demanding applications such as those found in mining, pulp and paper or difficult sealing applications. RIM is used for structural polyurethanes, which can be reinforced with fibers and a wide range of foams. This process is used mostly for large parts, unsuitable for injection molding because of large variations in part thickness, or small production runs. LIM is used for LSR in a process similar to injection molding and is found in a wide range of industries, including seals for nuclear installations.
