DO-HY embodies the complementarity of East and West, a mix of many cultures, approaches and schools of thought from the natural and mystical worlds and the new physics. DO is a word that is very widely used in Asian cultures. It means "way, path, road." The same root is found in judo, taekwondo, aikido and kendo. And HY is a short form of Hygeia, the Greek goddess of health. The DO-HY Approach is a simplified version that allows us to practice an easy regenerative technique every day. It is an amazing and marvelous technique to discover. The interesting aspect of this approach, as we explain in this presentation, is that it is done under the shower. And who doesn t take a shower regularly? The basic position in DO-HY is an anchoring stance. It s important to understand why this position is beneficial. It s very interesting. Look at a golfer, for example. When he is in this position, with his knees bent, he is more flexible and can make his shot with more confidence. The same is true of boxers, skiers and martial arts practitioners-it s a position one feels stable in. In DO-HY practice, when one starts the water running, instead of just letting it run over oneself, one makes a ball by circling one s hands at the level of the perineum, thus causing energy to enter the body s micro-orbit.
