Some of the highlights in our corporate development include: 1932: Anglo Canadian Shipping Company is successfully incorporated to assume management of Canadian American Shipping Company with a corporate identity reflecting the Company ’s focus on trade to the U.K. from Canada 1939-45: Operation of 10 Park Steamship supply ships delivering Canadian goods to the war effort. 1946-66: Participation in Western Canada Steamship Limited operating 20 “Park type ” vessels. A close association with the B.C. forest product industry, particularly H.R. MacMillan interests. Expansion of liner and agency representations. 1956: Appointed agent for d ’Amico line 1960: Incorporation of a U.S. subsidiary, International Shipping Company Incorporated, expanding agency operations into Washington and Oregon 1969: Purchase by Hastings West Investment Limited with management maintaining a minority interest 1974: Incorporation of Westship International Incorporated, supervising U.S. east coast operations until 1996 1976: Purchase of North Pacific Shipping Company Limited, expanding agency activities in B.C. 1980: Purchase of an interest in G.W. Nickerson Company Limited, expanding agency operations into B.C. ’s northern ports 1990: Management purchases control of the Anglo group 1996: Equity involvement by the d ’Amico group 2002: The Anglo Group, operating under the name of International Shipping, opened an office in Long Beach to service customers in California and provide a coastwise agency network. This arrangement was solidified in 2004 with the initiation of representative offices in Long Beach and San Francisco administered by our California General Manager, Andrew McDougall.
