Professional Credentials Lynne P. McCurdy, M.Cl.Sc., Au.D., Reg. CASLPO Doctor of Audiology Lynne obtained her Master s degree in Audiology from the University of Western Ontario in 1989 after completing both a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders B.Sc. (CD). Lynne recently completed her Doctor of Audiology Degree (Au.D) in March 2010. Lynne has also completed several courses in American Sign Language (ASL). Lynne is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and a member of the Canadian Academy of Audiology (CAA), the Educational Audiology Association (EAA), VOICE for hearing impaired kids and The Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA). Lynne brings to the Wellington community a long list of experience in the hearing healthcare field. She has worked at Sunnybrook and Mount Sinai hospitals in Toronto as a clinical audiologist and held such titles as Clinical Leader and Professional Practice Leader. She has also worked at the Children s Hospital of Eastern Ontario where she managed infants and children with hearing loss. Her more recent experiences include working in the hearing aid manufacturing sector as the Manager of Audiology and Customer Service as well as Product and Project Management titles. "The transition to business owner was an easy one for me, I ve thought about doing this for years and when I heard there was a need for me in Guelph, I jumped at the opportunity", says Lynne. The decision to open in Guelph stemmed from the need in the community to serve infants who were not able to obtain complete diagnostic services under the Ontario Infant Hearing Program (IHP) in Guelph. For the past several years, families whose babies have required complete hearing diagnostic services in the Wellington region have had to drive to neighboring communities like Brampton or Kitchener to obtain services for their children. Company owner Lynne decided "its time for a state-of-the-art facility right in Guelph so that all members of the community young and old could be seen for complete audiological care without having to drive to neighbouring communities. It feels good to be able to finally provide these services right here in Guelph" said Lynne. "My passion over the past two decades of my life has been hearing aids "“ I find the technology fascinating and I love being able to find the right solution for my patients regardless of their age" Both young and old will receive top notch service right here at home. Kathy Pflug Office Manger Kathy Pflug joins the company with over 10 years experience in customer service. Kathy was thrilled to join the team at Wellington Hearing Care: "I ve been waiting for an opportunity to work and serve the local community for years. Now it s finally happening". Kathy has been living in Guelph for 6 years with her husband and two children. She is an avid volunteer. She volunteers with the Guelph Wellington Special Olympics, Guelph Minor Track and Field and Guelph Soccer.
