VRS has all features that any rental software would have. It has been in the industry for over 11 years now. You don t need to be an expert in Windows to use it. It is very user friendly and the DOS like screen give the users a kick to use who are used to DOS. It utilizes windows for memory protection, printing and some other critical features. It runs under both DOS and Windows and does not need any specific drivers for printing or so. The features of VRS are as below: -User friendly and flexible -Maximum 999999 customers and movies to enter. The maximum number of copies for a movie is 9999. -Automatic data entry validations for invalid characters and duplicate entries. -Powerful search to quickly find a customer or a rental (search customer by ID, phone, name, city etc.) or even searching customers by comments entered. -The movie can be searched in a variety of ways "“ actor name (any field "“ star1 or star2), type, language, media etc. -Quick and easy to rent and return the movie (scan or manually enter the movie number) -Options like un-returning and refunding movies. -The reports can be viewed on screen or even printed. The reports can be daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly etc for the rentals. -The movie list print option has the flexibility to choose media, actor, type, language etc. -The late returns can be quickly viewed including customer name, phone, rent data etc. -There is user level security (add-on) which can be used to assign different privileges to users to perform certain actions like deleting movies, updating database, changing setup options etc. -Add on program (word documents for easy use) to print bar codes for movie labels (takes data directlyfrom VRS) and a program to print customer ID cards. Also label programs without barcodes also available. H/W Requirements: For basic VRS s/w without labeling program the minimum recommended PC is a Pentium 166 Mhz with 32 Mb RAM and 1 Gb free hard disk space.
