Harnam began his career in the manufacturing industry, where he was promoted to executive vice president of a large private company. Since founding the Kakkar Group in 1978, he has been providing services in management consulting, corporate turnaround strategies, obtaining SR&ED tax credits, government grants, and financing. His extensive experience in manufacturing has allowed him to successfully advise companies, returning them from the brink of bankruptcy to multi-million dollar profits. Moreover, his knowledge in SR&ED tax credits and grants is unparalleled: he was instrumental in the promotion of the current SR&ED program and since then he has obtained millions of dollars in grants for his clients. His Master of Taxation thesis was awarded the top prize in his class, and was subsequently published in the Canadian Tax Journal.
