LLNWA was founded in 1982 by a group of local women inspired by the overwhelming needs for services in their community. The organization became a non-profit corporation in 1984. LLNWA has grown from the initial volunteer efforts to an active community organization. It is a group of people dedicated to the social, health, and economic development of the rural communities within a 20 mile radius of Peterborough County. The Association s mandate is to provide programs to assist in the advancement of community and area residents through social, economic, cultural and educational activities.
