Katchawanooka Resort is located on beautiful Katchewanooka Lake (which comes from the Indian word meaning "lake of sparkling water ) . It is 90 minutes away from Toronto, 15 minutes east of Peterborough, and 5 minutes from the village of Lakefield in the Kawartha region. Katchewanooka Lake is a part of the Trent Severn Water way system that connects it to other waterways. We are located on 2 acres of lush green grass lined with trees and over 450 feet of shoreline, edged by a sandy beach, which is ideal for swimming. Across the lake, as part of their view, guests can see 175 acres of beautiful wild forest, which was dedicated to Lakefield College in 2008. The area across the resort also contains a sandy bank for families to rest and play with their kids. This is a resort with a rich history of serving families and hosting reunions for those who wish to come together and leave the big city for a quiet place where they can rekindle their friendships and create memories that will last a lifetime. With new ownership we have continued our efforts to revive the resort and improve it through renovation, upgrades, restoration projects, and beautifying the landscape. We ve recently added a recreation room for guests to enjoy which includes a ping pong table, foosball table, and air-hockey. All the cottages enjoy scenic lake front settings and are amply spaced to allow for guests to appreciate the view of the lake from inside their own cabin. Unfortunately, for the consideration of others, we are not a pet-friendly resort and, for the safety and well-being of all of our guests, smoking is not allowed inside the cabins. Each cabin is regularly cleaned and housekeeping is included to make your stay comfortable, relaxing, but also free from worry. Our friendly and hospitable atmosphere will allow you to have an unforgettable and pleasant vacation experience. For fishermen, our lake contains bass, pickerel (walleye), perch, carp and muskie and offers a great location as well as 11 docks which can be used for fishing. This is a family resort with a rich history of over 50 years serving generations of families up to today. Many guest come here every year to keep their memories alive and fresh.
