RD International
Not reputable, seedy, dishonest, misleading

I was recented contacted by a company called RD International. The lady said she found my resume on Workopolis and wanted to see me. We made the appointment, and I showed up at my scheduled day and time.

To my surprise, the environment seemed vaguely familiar, and for good reason. My appointment was with a Richard Bastisich, but I was lucky enough to get the sleazy looking Mr. Fischer. My memories came back.

This fine individual attempted to deprive me of more than $5, 000 for "services" about two years earlier. Fortunately I did not fall for it, because I did research and found you fine folks.

My reason for posting is to warn Ontario residents that these "gentlemen" have resurfaced at the 350 Bay Street location as RD International.

Needless to say, I had a few choice words for their "business" practices and left Mr. Fischer with a stunned look on his face as I left the building.

With additional research, I have found they are "re-inventing" themselves in Canada and the USA. I guess their business practices were catching up to them, and preventing them from "earning" a living.

My advice to anyone considering dealing with this type of agency: Buy a good book, like "What Color is my Parachute" and follow the steps. Engage in a resume writer or career counselor who will charge you for a couple of hours or so. You are more than capable of helping yourself - these people cannot do more than you can. Even if you get a job through them, it will be because of your skills and hard work, not theirs.
