Misleading Services

I was contacted via email form an individual representing herself asking me if she could submit my resume to RD Group International. Imeediately suspicious, I looked them up and phoned them directly. They said it was ok and she was their agent in a different location and could not connect me to her directly. I submitted my resume directly and quated her name as a referral.

I went to the interview with Richard who sported a 1500 dollar suit and thought I had the best interview possible. I turned out to be "underemployed" and suitable for a VP position elsewhere (He could not disclose th client name).

I was asked back for a second interview with Steve Ficher, VP of the firm but was asked to bring along my wife as "any company I would be placed with would want to meet her prior to hiring me as she would be involved in company functions by my side.

Stupid me I agreed and had my wife leave her busy job early to accomodate me.

We went to the second interview with Steve and he concurred with Richards appraisal of me and went into a lengthy discussion with my wife about my being underemployed etc. She of course concurred with his assessment of her poor shmuck husband. Then came the pitch!

I would have to sign a contract of course giving them access to my body for three years. Hmmm OK
Then came the hammer. This would cost 5500 dollars and an additional 2 grand if I was placed over a certain salary level.

I asked for some time to think it over and if I could take the paperwork with me. NO I could not have the paperwork.

I extract myself and my wife and had a great dinner which was the only good thing of the day.

On my way out I noticed a recent east indiam immigrant preparing to sign his life away. In the lobby was another husband and wife "Mark" awaiting their appointment. The poor guy looked like he had never worn a suit before and his wife was rather poorly dressed as well. I guess they would have a different figure placed before them.
