Rip off on $40, 000 Lottery Winne

So I def just received a letter in the mail from the North American Lottery Game saying that I had won $40, 000. It's a scam, because they wanted me to deposit the check, which I did, and send a money order to a man by the name of Robert Cobb of $2, 950.00 to quote un quote pay for taxes and surcharges. Do not believe what the letter says because I was jipped and as a military personel along with a student paying for school completely by himself I was looking forward to having that money.
