Sales Rep. Twyla Be aware of their final bill!!!

Moved from Ontario to Quebec. Got an estimate over the internet from Capital Moving, they were the cheapest so I went with them. The estimate they gave me was around $1, 700.

BUT when all my furniture and belongings were in their possession and I was in my car on my way to Quebec, I got a call from the service rep that gave me the quote. Wow! what a shock, she was telling me that the amount for the moving truck was now $3, 500.00 and it had to be certified cheque!!! Once the truck got to my new home in Montreal, the movers started making a fuss about the stairs, they wanted to charge me even more. I was out of money and told them to use their equipment to avoir the stair. They had this extendable platform that trucks have. I told them I was not amused buy their sneaky business practices and they used the platform.

While tacking to the movers about my dissatisfaction regarding their estimate and their actual price, one of the movers said and I quote "that is nothing! once they gave a quote to a guy that was moving to (can't remember where to), the quote was $3, 000. and they charged him $12, 000.

It looks like this company does that on a regular basis. They give a nice estimate to attract customers and once they are in possession of their belongings, they hit the customers with the real price!!!

Isn't their a law that protects consumers regarding estimates and how much more a business can go over their estimate?

Anyone else had this experience with Capital Moving?
