ALLIANCE VAN LINES MOVING SYSTEMS - Sean Singh - alliancevanlines.ca scam rip off

Alliance Van Lines Moving Systems is operated by Sean Singh out of Missisauga Ontario and is a "broker" for Great Canadian Van Lines operated out of Vancouver B.C.

The scam is simple:

1) I submitted a web form to request a free moving estimate and got a call from Sean Singh at 905-281-0753
2) A friendly older gentleman showed up at our residence and gave us a quote based on the weight of our items (in my case he provided a quote based on 900lbs of items)
3) Within a week or so a truck picks up our items
4) At this point, we drove in our own car and awaiting our items to arrive.
5) I called for Sean everyday for a week and received no returned calls.
6) Finally, after 10 days I through to him by calling a # that Great Canadian Van lines gave me
7) He said he would put the items on a truck the next day (not sure why he didn't do this 10days ago?)
8) Sean says he'll fax over the "actual" weight and total cost.
9) Well, my items have now been at his storage facilities for over 10days and we've been without the things we need for just as long.
10) The estimate comes in, he gives me a weight of 2000 lbs!
11) We're now stuck, either agree to have ship the items or have a different company go to his facility and pickup our items, thus having to pay him a pickup and storage fee for almost 2 weeks.

We agreed to have him ship the items. I regret doing business with Sean and his company.

Learn from my mistakes...

1) Don't be fooled by the nice old guy.
2) Get a second estimate on your weight
3) Do better research on your moving company, after I had the items shipped I found another complaint on ALLIANCE VAN LINES MOVING SYSTEMS LIMITED, Report: #219031
