Long distance charges!

Big thanks to the CRTC for approving yet another fee for Telus to add on to our basic phone service. Now, apparently I cannot dial long distance on my phone using a third party provider because Telus now needs a piece of the action for doing so. So much for the governments old sing song about fair consumer choices in long distance providers. Now my basic home phone charge to over 31 dollars a month GST. PS - not everyone in Alberta works the "patch". How about a explanation from the CRTC, Telus, or the Alberta government on how fair this new charge is. Telus is forever dreaming up new ways to nickel and dime its customers. Are they not capable of running a business, or is their only solution to continually coming up short to screw its customers?
