Hello, a couple of years ago I had given MAX Models a small ("fully refundable")deposit for a portfolio. I hadn't signed a full service contract (atleast I was lead to believe I wasn't) which is what I was advised to do (from an actual laywer) and I felt a little nervous about it from the start since one of the blond ladies kept playing with her words. She said we could 'get right started with the photos if I were to put down a deposit' and then after I gave her the deposit (of a measly 120) had me sign a receite and then right after wards she said the photos would be done once she got the full amount. I knew right then that she was anything but professional and also a really bad manipulator (not even a good one who could the full amount out of me ;)) so I said bye to whole thing shortly after that, even the money I threw away unfortunately but fiqured it was a small lesson- I did end up finding a completely different agency and have actually found some work since then, it's been lots of fun and I would recommend anyone who considering MAX to go elsewhere and really do some professional research for it WILL pay off!
A few months ago I received a message on my cell phone from the blond girl telling me I still had the money with them and that I was to call her and "arrange to get it back or to see what can be done". At that point I didn't care enough to deal with such a parasitical energy so I left it alone for the time being.
Last week I was feeling a bit curious... and low on funds so I sent an e-mail, not wanting to deal with them in person, requesting how we could go about with the money I had given earlier.
I was already prepared for them to say there is no refund because its been so long but they seem to think now that I owe them the rest of the money for the portfolio that I never even got nor even heard anything about and supposedly I owe THEM $700!!! How is that even possible? If I did sign any service agreement saying I would pay the full amount then I was definitely lied to, deceived ILLEGALLY, scammed, used whatever the word is how is this even possible? If there is anyone in the process of getting them legally; I would definitely be interested having contact with them! There was something about the nature of their letter that definitely felt a bit threatening to me. Hope people read this!
