Took money, no work, no answers to complaints

In 2004, I responded to an ad in the local paper looking for children to work as models. I made an appointment and went to the office, which was closed at the time. I thought it was strange that a modeling agency would not be open during the day, as I knew enough about the business to know that bookings for jobs and auditions happens during regular business hours. We met with Lorraine, who seemed very nice, although I didn't see any examples of work done by any of her clients. She was not at all pushy, which I liked, and said that babies didn' t need professional photos, which I was glad to hear. I did ask at what age kids needed photos, and she said age ten, which struck me as odd because I grew up with friends who modelled and I knew that once you reach age 3-4, professional photos are usually required. I paid her my $199.00 registration fee and left her some photos for the website. When I got home, I went on their website to check it out and I was shocked to see that most of the photos had not been updated in years. There would be pictures of kids who were born in 2000 and their baby pictures were still there. If this had been one or two, I would have thought that the parents just stopped submitting photos, but I soon realized that ALL the photos were outdated. I tried to contact the agency to get some answers, and possibly my money back, but never got a reply. We then did a lot of research and found a reputable and professional agency and have been with them ever since. Incidentally, I think Lornik may still be in business in Burlington.
