Wanless Post Office
NO WEEKLY SERVICE

Our Canada Post Office is opened Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 2:00 p.m. The problems we are having is this: Half of the small town's people work daily from Monday to Friday and usually do not get home till way after the post office has closed. When we have parcels that need to be picked up, we cannot pick them up, unless you take a half a day off work to retrieve your parcel. We are left with no alternative but to pay $285.00 for a mailbox in the nearest town which is The Pas. Now, because the post mistress does not want to change her hours, what kind of mail service are we getting here. Although our tax money goes towards paying her salary and our stamps and other mail goes towards some kind of service, what kind of service do we get? Nothing - which to me is pretty pathetic even with the numerous complaints we have put through to Canada Post. Why then, would Canada Post not have community mailboxes outside like any other small community and if we do receive items for pick up, then we can drive into The Pas to pick up said parcel, as most of us work in the Town of The Pas anyway! Canada Post should be ashamed of themselves if they call this service to their customers. Shame on you Canada Post. We are better off never having a post office in Wanless if this is what we will be getting. Why can't the hours be changed or at least have the post office opened on Saturday mornings, so the working class people can pick up their parcels when they receive them. This is ridiculous, people are getting cheezed off. We don't need your pity here, we need action and we need a post office that can serve the public, and simply not a fancy sign hanging onto a building. We need service here CANADA POST, WAKE UP!!!
