Can't download Adobe DRM ebooks

I purchased a lot of ebooks on the same day. Some download, but nine ebooks won't.
Kobo says "they are experiencing a problem with PDF format ebooks being downloaded", but why would some download, and not others? That excuse does not make any sense and I suspect they don't even know what the problem really is.
They cannot give a time frame of when they will fix the problem. Until then I cannot access? R4000 worth of books. They have offered me a refund but cannot offer me the original 50% discounted price if I purchase them a second time, I will have to pay full price.
I was going to upgrade to a new Kobo as my Christmas present to myself but you can bet your bottom dollar I will be buying another brand altogether.
