Fidelity Financial Services, Inc
Fidelity Financial Services, Inc, North American Sweepstakes Lottery: BEWARE! Fraudulent Check Scam: BEWARE!

Miscellaneous

Just as others have posted, I received my $4, 875.00 check, "Winning Final Notification" dated June 30, 2008 drawn on the M&I Bank of Mayville; it looked like a real check. For those unfamiliar with these scams, let me explain how YOU get taken:

1) The $4, 875.00 check is made out to YOU. Once you sign the back, YOU assume financial responsibility for the check.

2) Foolishly, YOU send the originator $2, 875.00 (to cover "taxes") via Western Union.

3) Your bank discovers that the check is fraudulent; however, the check bears YOUR signature, so YOU are ultimately responsible for those funds.

4) YOU must now repay your bank $4, 875.00 - of which you have already sent $2, 875.00 to the scam artist.

5) YOU have now been taken for $2, 875.00!

Unfortunately, these scams often prey upon those who are already in dire financial circumstances and seek relief. I know of one family, financially strapped, that was pushed into bankruptcy because they took advantage of this offer.

For your own well-being: DESTROY THIS CHECK! And alert your friends & neighbors who will probably be receiving the same, if they have not received one already.
