Ripoff scam telemarketing fraud credit card

I received a call today from Natasha Davis stating that the credit card I applied for was approved. I asked her what bank this was and she said National Bank in Toronto. She said I was approved for 2 cards - one a mastercard and one a visa - each with $2, 500 limit.

I had recently applied online so it sounded ok. She said I needed to keep $199 in the account to recieve the 4.3% low rate. She asked for my checking account number. I said I was uncomfortable giving it to her - could I call the office and verify.

She gave me the number. I called and it was answered "Transglobal National Bank" - i asked to be tranferred back to Natasha and - STUPID STUPID STUPID - I gave her the info.

A verifier called me back to confirm it 20 minutes later. I got a confirmation code. Felt weird about it all night - its 4am now and cant sleep over it. Found this site and realized it was indeed a scam. I checked my bank online and no deductions went through yet so I'll be closing my account tomorrow and going through the hassle of getting a new checking account and tracking down the places I wrote checks to.

Im also gonna report to the ftc and the police tomorrow. I did get a couple of phone numbers 416-488-7389 and 416-488-3179. Luckily I havent lost money. Evil, evil people. Hopefully others will read this and not get caught. So stupid - but it sounded so convincing.
