Paint failure

We purchased a 7 piece Deep Seating Balcony (Patio) Set - "Select Edition Standford Court" LG8250-7PC CA51122

from a Walmart store on October 8, 2008 - I have the receipt.

It was the end of the summer season so this set remained boxed up until the spring/summer of 2009. It was used during the summers of 2009 and 2010 a total of 10 months altogether.

When storing it (inside) in the fall of 2010 we noticed quite a few areas where paint was flaking and rust showing, mainly at welded joints. I decided at the time I would use emery cloth on the bad areas and repaint it the next year (spring of 2011).

When we went to set it up this spring (2011) we found severe paint and metal scale flakeing coming from all over each of the chairs - a real mess.

The table base has paint failure also, but the top part doesn't seem to be too bad.

This appears to be clearly a metal preparation and paint problem (no primer used). Surely you don't manufacture products to just barely get past the warranty period and then the customer is stuck with it after that.

Walmart's position is that this is for the manufacturer to address and resolve.

Huayue Furniture began by saying they would check their inventory for spare items (chairs), and wanted me to send them photos showing the problem, which I did.

Now they have stopped responding to my messages completely.

I have several photos but they are in BMP format and will not attach here.

Trying to convert these photos from BMP to JPG did not work.
