Well! What can I say... I was ripped off big time by these people! So we went to buy a vehicle from them looked like a good dea! l being only 21 years old i was with my husband we went to buy our first vehicle. Needed an SUV with lots of space for our growing family. We had an at the time 2 year old and one on the way. They seemed like nice people at first but i felt a little nervous and didnt know why; a little skeptical like they were TRYING to be nice and werent really genuine. So off we went with our first vehicle... 8 months later the vehicle starts acting up when changing from drive to reverse and reverse to drive. So we take it to get checked out at a local garage. They say maybe the transmission fluid needs to be changed. So they try and that and no improvement! Then a couple weeks before Christmas I was taking my newborn to the doctor and reversed out of my parking spot and the vehicle would not go in drive! I was stuck there in the middle of the street with my newborn in the car, not to mention blocking in cars that were parked behind me. I had to wait there for 30 minuites to be rescued and have the vehicle towed. So we are told the transmission needs to be replaced and it will cost about $4000.00... we only payed $6999.00 for it. Being young with no credit we had to get our loan from a high finance company so we were stuck paying for this at $300.00 per month for the next 4 years regardless of if it was working or not! We had to wait over a month for the new transmission to get here because it hadto come from the US and Christmas held everything up. So the garage goes to fix it and get this!!! THEY HAUL OUT A SECOND HAND TRANSMISSION FROM AUTO PARTS NETWORK! The vehicle only had 78000 KM on it when we bought it and the transmission had already been replaced! The vehicle is now on its 3rd at only 88000km. So back to my story when they are replacing it they discover that the entire driveshaft also needs to be replaced, the part also had to come from the US. And longer wait times for us. We were nearly 2 months without a vehicle... we nearly lost everything. Theres no public transit where we live. My husband is 19 KM away from work and i was 35 km away from school so no way could we walk. It costed $8000 to fix it. Looking back at when we first bought it maybe the vehicle was a little more jumpy than usual when shifting gears. Not knowing anything about vehicles I didnt see that until it got worse. But im damn sure the people at KENMOUNT AUTO CENTER IN ST. JOHN'S knew. They had to. Oh and the pricks were too cheap to even fill it up, it was on empty and they put a half tank of gas in there... only takes 50 to fill it. Was the least they could have done for ruining my life!
