BEWARE OF RIP-OFF EXPEDIA.CA
I reserved a Thrifty car for Pearson A/P via Epedia.ca. The reservation times were 4:00 PM on a Monday, return at 8:00 PM the necxt day. Cost was $115.15
Plane was late, picked up the car at 7:15 PM, was told by the Thrifty agent at Pearson that for a one day rental I had until 7:00 PM the next day to return the Car. Car was returned the next day at 5:15 PM and I expected to be charged for 1 day rental.
Expedia refuses to credit me with the second day rental, telling me that the fine print in the Terms & Conditions stipulate that the price of my 2 day rental was $115, 15 and that's it.
Expedia tells me to forget about it - It's too darn bad, that's the price and to get lost. Thrifty says and I quoteJosh Wells, International Tour Consultant, Thrifty Car Rental '' While you did only have the vehicle for one day Expedia is billed for the full 2 day reservation. There are no refunds from Thrifty for the unused day.
So there, both Expedia and Thrifty RIP the consumer off and get away with it, because it is written in the FINE PRINT of THE TERMS and CONDITIONS.
Be aware, be VERY AWARE of these scamming artists who gouge the unsuspecting person by presenting themselves as companies that want to help you in your travels.
All they want to do is to screw you in any way they can and the above is a clear example.
So, if you have an Expedia account - CANCEL IT
If you have a Thrifty card and account - CANCEL IT
In the case of these two companies, they support each other in SCREWING the traveler
