Fitness One - Burlington
CLOSING WITHOUT NOTICE

To anyone who was a member of Fitness One in Appleby Mall Burlington:

The gym is now CLOSED with no notice except a sign in the window indicating they haven't been paying the rent. I went to workout today and to my great suprise found the sign. I immediately tried to contact the head office and found it extremely difficult to find a contact number so I started calling the only Fitness One I knew that might still be open in Mississauga. I was told the Fitness One database had been sold to Premier Fitness in Burlington on Fairview and that they had taken over the membrships. I contacted them and was told it was true but they would NOT honour my membership at its current price I would have to pay more. I immediately asked for my membership to be terminated and in order to do that I had to bring my membership card into the fairview location and sign cancellation papers. So I did, and yes you guessed it the fees are still being charged to my visa. I was told on the phone once I signed the papers it would officially cancel my membership and automatic fees to my visa. BTW: I didn't sign any papers only the representative did so why did I have to go there??? Just another excuse to keep ripping clients off!!! I left Premier years ago as they were a horrible gym that ripped off their clients, trying to cancel a membership was just unbelieveable so I'm very skeptical that this problem is resolved. I would suggest to anyone who is in this situation report your credit card as stolen and stop them in their thieving tracks. Visa will not help you if you tell them what's happened as they are on the side of the crooks and NOT the cardholder - totally disgusting! No wonder our society has gotten the message that's it better to lie and cheat than do the right thing and be socially responsible.
