Toronto Pathways
Misleading perception of services

Shops, Products, Services

PLEASE take great Caution if you're seeking employment I do not normally submit reports such as this but I have been affected by this incident enough to join in with others. It's 4am and I can't sleep because I don't know what to trust in this society anymore.

I have been experiencing slight desperation to gain employment as my efforts have been fruitless of late. When I received a call from a lady who calls herself Susan (no last name) I didn't want to seem aggressive in questioning her as to what this was about.

She was abrupt with an insistent tone mentioning that a director needs to see me about an opportunity that has become available. After providing the address of 350 Bay St 9th floor and confirming I had written it down, she told me to come in person and ask for Susan.

Of course I pursued the opportunity and attended the appointment at an office where I was greeted by a receptionist behind glass and after asking for Susan, I was told that a Mr. Fisher would be seeing me.

I met with a gentlemen and there were a couple of other warning signs. Obviously telling me that I am marketable and out of the many people that come in on a daily basis, only a few qualify, fortunately I qualified (I must have naive written on my forehead).

Another warning sign is that I was handed an information sheet which had no company logo or contact information on it. Of course my biggest concern was the verbal mention that there would be a fee for services which will be discussed in a second meeting. The first question I ask myself is, what am I buying.

Anyway, my dream job was just around the corner from where I live and Im ready to pay for that. Actually, I really am.

However, something nagged at me for the rest of the evening as there was a sense in my gut. I go online to listen to the testimonials. First thing I noticed was that the same people providing testimonials also appeared on other web sites of different company names. Then I started reading several reviews from various complaint sights which brings me here.

I am appalled by the fact that these types of organizations are allowed to operate so openly and without consequence. What kind of a society do we live in. Now I will treat each call with suspicion and if a sincere service calls me, my attitude
will turn them off.

I got wise before I was scammed with the help of postings from this and a number of other sites. Thank you folks, you saved my bacon. Still, my confidence has been shattered as I dont know who to turn to now for help.

How is it that people like this can look in the mirror each day and live with themselves. It seems to be everywhere in everything, Politics, CEOs of huge corporations, Financial institutions. It is obvious these people who work there have read these complaints, yet they continue to operate. Where is the morality.

If you folks take money from immigrants and hard working people that need help without providing the services you promise, shame on you.
