Star Capital Securities Scam called North American Shoppers Sweepstakes

I was sent a letter with a 4875.00 check. The letter said I had won SWEEPSTAKES for 125, 000 dollars. I called the claims agent (Carol Armstrong), she said to deposit check. I did and I waited for it to clear. It did and then called her back. She then requested the amount of 2975.00 to be sent to a tax agent.(Dotts Burns).

I sent the 2975.00 figuring if it was a scam I would not be out any money. I then called back. Carol then informed me that there was a state tax of 1610.00. This seemed odd but still not out many money. I ask point blank would there be any other payments do in order to get this check. Her reply&nothing else would be required and she would fedex the check for next day. I sent the amount requested.

Not more that 1 hour later I get a call. Guess who? Carol Armstong... wanting me to pay duty on the fedex letter. amount 1589.00 I told her that you pay duty on Items not letters. (At least I think it would have to be a consumable). At this point I did not comply with the request.

I am not out any money, But BEWARE if you see this past your way.

A little foot note I looked up the addresses in ottawa, they dont exist.
