August of 2008, we shipped 4, 100 automotive wash buckets to Doug Westcott of Northwest Imports and have never received payment.
Doug and I communicated over the phone and by email for about 6 weeks working on an order. Once we had agreed to quantity, price and terms he filled out a credit application for the 30 day payment terms. After searching for credit reports on Doug Westcott and Northwest Imports and coming up with nothing we finally decided to trust his references. Trusting his references was a huge mistake and I can only assume they are part of his SCAM. The references were adamant about his ability to pay within 30 days, Doug buys large volumes from them ($100, 000 plus) and never any problems.
After receiving Northwest Imports purchase order, we shipped the buckets to a storage facility in Grand Forks, North Dakota were it was then delivered to Doug in Canada. We submitted our invoice and at the 30 day mark began contacting Doug to make payment. Originally his story was that he was waiting for payment on a container he delivered to one of his customers; it would be a couple of weeks. We kept in contact and he would always mention waiting for payment from his customers until he finally claimed he was filing for bankruptcy. Since then we have contracted with a collection agency which had made contact with Doug and talked about making payments but no money has been paid on the invoice to this point.
Well I am the fool! Doug received our buckets and we received nothing but promises of payment day after day, week after week and it continues.
Doug Westcott is a liar and Northwest Imports is a business designed to scam small businesses and companies out of their inventory.
