Starz1 Or Former Semi-Tech Telecom
Do not believe what Simon Ham in Starz1 say! It is all about lies, deception & purgery

Miscellaneous

Recently, I saw an ad in Toronto Star about investing in a phone card vending machine business that said: small investment, great profit and great locations. As a new immigrant, I wanted to invest in some kind of business in Toronto so to support my family while I was trying to find a full time job. After I contacted the company, an indian guy answered me and said their company is legitimate and registered with the province of Ontario and is listed among Better Business Bureau of Ontario. I met him in their office in Mississauge.

I took me an hr to drive there and find the place. It was in a remote place near the highway 401. I was wondering where in the hell and why the owners of the company have chosen such an inaccessible and nowhere place to do their business. In the lobby where I was greeted with an old woman secretary there were no seats to sit and no adverisement on the walls. There were several rooms with blinds that were completely separated from the main lobby. A tall black hair Asian man suddenly came out of one of those rooms and introduced himslef as Simon. Later I found out he was originaly from South Korea. He almost looked like the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il. He gave a short slide presentation about how to sell 20 phone cards a day and get rich overnight. It was too good to be true.

He contantly talked about how fast the phone card business in Ontario is expanding and BS like that. They had several phone card vending machines in the conference rooms with blinking lights and so on. They gave me several flyers with some numbers on them that were the projected sales figures. I also got the contract document which was too lengthy and lots of ifs and buts and conditions.

At that time I felt something was fishy in that place. I did not sign anything. That tall black haired South Korean guy or I call him Kim Jong-il disappeared suddenly and I could not find him again. When I got back home, first thing I did was to check the internet and Small Business Bureau in Toronto to see if Starz1 was registered. To my surprise I was shocked when I read about the owner of the company Mr. Simon Ham on canada-complaints.com and when I heard from the government that the company was not even registered let alone to be listed on BBBO.

I also contacted several people who were in this business and had bought the machine from his company. They were all sad and dismayed for getting into this business. They had lost all their savings because they were not making any significant sales nor they were getting any support from Mr. Simon Ham for improving their business as promised in the package. I also contacted the main manufacturer of the machine in Nebraska and found out that they sell the identical machine to their American clients for a fraction of what Mr. Ham has been selling to prospective clients in Canada. I was shocked to hear these facts. Besides, I found out that there was actually a Canadian company called Opal in Toronto that sells even a better machine with lots of options and upgrades for a price of 2500 dollars.

What I heard from other people is that Mr. Ham had been operating under a company named Semi-Tech Telecom until Feb. 2008 when he had to dissolve his company due to several lawsuits against him at that time. When I read the story in canada-complaints.com I found out that he actually lied to the Ontario government when he was dissolving his company by saying that there were no pending court cases against his company.

I am now very lucky that I saved my life by reading and finding facts about Starz1 and Mr. Simon Ham. I believe the Ontario government must act now and investigate scam and illegal businesses across Ontario. With the current economic turn down in place, it is very unfair and unjust to let these illegitimate and scammy businesses to thrive in Toronto.

As a citizen of Canada, economic prosperity and growth can only happen in a healthy environment where parasites and crimnals who are involved in scams, misrepresentation, purgery and rip off are cleansed from the society.
