Sent me letter telling me i won a lottery

I got a letter telling me I had won the lottery. They sent me a check for 4, 985 I was to cash and send them back 3, 975 of this for taxes. I have deposited the check but have not sent them any money I'm going back to my bank and telling them what has happened and hopefully that will not hurt me in any way. If you know any thing else I should do please tell me thank you.
