I recieved a letter in the mail with no return address. When I opened the letter it stated that I had won a winning of $248, 000.00. In the letter there was a check written out to me for $4985.00 from BioPharma Scientific Inc. After reading the letter, I realized that this had to be a scam. What company would tell me I won something in that sum, and have to pay $3975.00 for taxed due on the prize won before I am able to claim the rest of my prize money.
After reading the letter a couple of times, I decided to look up the company name on the check. BioPharma Scientific, Inc. Got a website https://www.biopharmasci.com/legal/returns.asp. In the contact us I found a phone number, called it and told them that I had recieved a check in the mail from the company. The women on the phone advised me that it was a scam, and that they were collecting information to make a suit against the company that has been mailing these checks out. After she had told me that I also advised that I had a letter from the company who sent me the check explaining why I was recieving this check. The women on the phone asked if I could fax the check and the letter to her office so they could give it to the lawyers they are working with, and that brings me here.
This isn't the first time that people have attempted to scam me, they must think I am an easy target.
My suggestion to anyone who gets letters with checks already made out to them is to look up the company that sent you the letter, and if there happens to be a check in the with a different company name look it up and call to verify, becuase this kind of thing happenes a lot more than you would think.By calling and verifying everything you can actually be helping out a company that is filing a suit against who ever is sending out the bad checks.
