Timmy Thomas Sweepstakes /Lottery Scam

August 20, 2007 we received a letter with an enclosed check from KeyBridge Financial Services, stating that we had won a sweepstake/lottery, and that we had been a winner in the North American category A. We were randomly selected from Readers Digest, Publishers Clearing House.

The letter indicated that this was our final notice and that we had to call a Foreign Accounts representative to activate our check. The enclosed check was in the amount of $4800 to cover mandatory processing fees and foreign access taxes. The remaining $91, 200 was to be sent to us once we deposited the first $4, 800 into our personal bank account. We had never received any prior notifications regarding any winnings.

We contacted the representative "Timmy Thomas" to ask a couple of questions to in fact verify that this wasn't a scam, he assured us that it was not a scam that all we had to do was deposit the check, we ask him if we could go to a Citizens Bank and cash the check instead of depositing it, but after a couple of questions Mr. Thomas became agitated and stated to me that we had to obey the company policy in order to receive the remaining check.

Once again I ask questions after questions until Timmy Thomas became upset that hung the phone.

We want to inform the public to not fall for these types of scam, to us what they wanted was our personal bank account information to steal our identity. The representative sounded nervous and had an African accent. Don't become a victim.
