Northern Funds ripoff artists- award letter for lottery

I recieved a letter in the mail this past week about that i won a lottery that was drawn in canada, thunder bay ontario canada. they said that it was a lump sum of 65, 000 dollars.

I unfolded the letter and there was a check in there for 2, 470 dollars with my name on it. I read the letter and they told me to call 1-416-856-0190 and i did to verify the check. Dont get me wrong, i was totally buying this seeing as i needed money really bad.

When i call them, the guy on the phone told me to deposit the check in the bank and let it clear, then he said that after it cleared to take it and go to western union and send 2, 300 dollars to a guy named tom miller to pay the taxes of my winnings. After that i was to call them back and tell them that it was done.

At first i was happy that i won so i told my sister. She told me that it was a scam and we investigated it and i called my bank as well to explain to them what i had and the bank told me that they will not cash any checks from the canadian lotteries because its all a scam.

What upsets me is that i really needed money due to the fact that i have some monetary issues and i was happy, but by these companies doing stuff to good people is a damn shame.
