Ripoff Bad landlord who was very rude

April Oct. 1995: I rented a 1-bedroom apt., #2, 8523-82 Ave., Edm. My landlord, Fred Zimmermann (469-6923) was very rude, forcing me to move out.

For example, when I showed him how the door lock wasn't working, he said "How do you know how to do that" in a tone of voice that I could only interpret as that he was suspecting me of knowing how to do break-ins. Later he said "My son is going to be a lawyer; you'd better watch out for him." When I moved out, I put a clean criminal record check in his mail box, but I never got an apology. I was solely judged by my appearance it seemed.

He also came behind me and said in an harsh, rude tone of voice "What are you doing up here", when I was asking a neighbor tenant for some sugar. He then said "I own this place", and "You leave my tenants alone". Again, all I wanted was some sugar, and to say hi to my neighbor, who never complained.

He also looked in my windows, even waving to me once, even though I told him not to. I had to keep the curtains closed because of that.

The place itself was clean and well-repaired, but I couldn't swallow my pride in order to stay there.
